Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how JP Finance collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use The Compound, including the website, application, subscription checkout, billing portal, and related member features. JP Finance may use WhyLearntech as a technology contractor or service provider to help build, host, maintain, support, secure, or operate The Compound.

The Compound is a personal financial planning and budgeting application. Because users may enter financial information manually, you should only enter information you are comfortable storing in the service.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: email address, user ID, authentication records, account status, and related profile information.

Subscription and billing information: Stripe customer ID, subscription ID, plan or price ID, subscription status, renewal dates, cancellation status, checkout events, and payment-related metadata. JP Finance does not intentionally store full payment card numbers on its own servers.

Financial planning information you enter: holdings, ticker symbols, asset names, share amounts, cost basis, current prices, dividend assumptions, dividend entries, investment gains, budgets, income and expense categories, saving goals, deposits, net-worth entries, monthly and annual snapshots, notes, and similar information.

Usage and technical information: device and browser information, IP address, log data, pages or features accessed, timestamps, error reports, security events, and cookies or similar technologies used to operate and secure the service.

Community information: if membership includes a Discord role or community feature, JP Finance may process identifiers needed to provide, support, or moderate that access.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to provide, secure, maintain, support, and improve The Compound; create and manage accounts; process subscriptions; provide the billing portal; show user-entered financial dashboards; calculate estimates; provide customer support; send service-related notifications; troubleshoot bugs; prevent fraud and abuse; enforce our Terms; and comply with legal obligations.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand product usage and improve The Compound, provided that information does not reasonably identify you.

4. Financial Data and Manual Entries

The Compound currently relies heavily on user-entered data. JP Finance does not guarantee that manually entered information, calculations, projections, budget summaries, dividend estimates, investment summaries, or net-worth views are complete, accurate, current, or suitable for financial decisions.

The Compound is not a bank, broker, investment adviser, tax adviser, accountant, attorney, or fiduciary. Do not enter information that you are not authorized to provide, that belongs to another person without permission, or that is unnecessary for your use of the service.

5. How We Share Information

Service providers and contractors: JP Finance shares information with vendors and contractors that help operate The Compound, such as WhyLearntech for technology services, Supabase for authentication and database services, Stripe for payments and billing, hosting providers, Resend or other email providers, support providers, analytics or monitoring tools, and Discord if community access is provided.

Legal and safety reasons: JP Finance may disclose information if it believes disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, enforce our Terms, prevent fraud or abuse, protect users, protect JP Finance or its service providers, or address security issues.

Business transfers: if JP Finance or The Compound is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to appropriate protections.

We do not sell your personal information or manually entered financial planning data as a standalone product. We do not authorize third parties to use your manually entered financial planning data for their independent advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, or targeted advertising purposes.

6. Stripe, Supabase, Discord, and Other Third Parties

Stripe processes payment and billing information according to its own terms and privacy practices. Stripe may collect payment details, fraud-prevention signals, billing information, and transaction data directly from you during checkout or billing management.

Supabase provides authentication, database, and related infrastructure services that may process account and application data. Resend or another email provider may process account, contact, or Discord-access request information when service emails are sent. Discord or other community providers may process identifiers and community activity if you use those features.

Third-party services may collect information directly from you under their own policies. JP Finance is not responsible for third-party privacy practices, but uses service providers to operate The Compound.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Compound may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the service, process checkout flows, measure usage, and troubleshoot errors.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling some cookies may prevent The Compound from working correctly.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide The Compound, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, keep business records, prevent fraud, and maintain backups.

If you cancel your subscription, we may retain account, billing, and application data for a reasonable period unless you request deletion and deletion is legally and technically feasible.

9. Security

JP Finance uses commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including safeguards supported by service providers where applicable. No internet service, database, or transmission method is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

You are responsible for using a strong password, keeping credentials confidential, maintaining secure devices, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.

10. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information. You may also have the right to appeal or complain to a regulator.

You can update some account and application information directly in The Compound. For other requests, contact JP Finance at jpfinanc3@gmail.com or through another official support channel, email address, or contact method provided by JP Finance.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some information may be retained where necessary for legal, security, billing, backup, or legitimate business purposes.

11. Age Requirements

The Compound is intended for adults who are at least 18 years old or the age of majority where they live. By using The Compound, you represent that you meet this age requirement. Accounts that do not meet this requirement may be suspended or closed.

12. International Users

If you access The Compound from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where JP Finance or its service providers operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws different from those where you live.

13. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The updated policy will be posted with a new last updated date. If changes are material, additional notice may be provided where practical or legally required.
